If you asked me why God should let me into heaven, the honest answer is—He shouldn’t. Not based on anything I’ve done.
I’ve made mistakes. I’ve fallen short. No amount of good deeds, kindness, or effort could ever make me perfect—and perfection is what a holy God requires. That’s the hard truth. But here’s the good news: I’m not counting on my record. I’m counting on Jesus.
Jesus lived the perfect life I couldn’t, and then took the punishment I deserved. He didn’t just die for sins—He died for mine. And when He rose from the grave, He opened the way for anyone who trusts in Him to be forgiven and made right with God.
So when I stand before God one day, I won’t point to myself. I’ll point to Jesus—to His mercy, His sacrifice, and His promise that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16).
That’s why I know I’ll be welcomed into heaven—not because I earned it, but because Jesus paid it all.
